Our Pastor and RCWP

After a long period of discernment, Sandra DeMaster of McMinnville, Oregon, decided to become a Priest.  With the support of her family, many friends and peers, as well as an international organization known as Roman Catholic Womenpriests, Sandi was ordained as a Deacon in the spring of 2008, and Priest in 2009.

The Lumen Christi community is grateful to have Sandi as their Pastor and Priest, and they are proud to support and participate in the prophetic voice for justice and renewal in the Church.  Sandi embodies their love for and their dedication to the Catholic Church, as well as their ideals of social justice, peaceful dissent, and courage of conscience.

In addition to presiding at Lumen Christi eucharistic celebrations, Sandi is certified to serve as a spiritual director for  individuals who wish to engage this practice in deepening their walk of faith.  She is also available for retreat or study group facilitation, or to assist in the celebration of life transition events:  baptisms, marriages, funerals.  Refer to our directory for contact information.
Roman Catholic Womenpriests (RCWP) is an international initiative within the Roman Catholic Church. The mission of Roman Catholic Womenpriests is to spiritually prepare, ordain, and support women and men from all states of life, who are theologically qualified, who are committed to an inclusive model of Church, and who are called by the Holy Spirit and their communities to minister within the Roman Catholic Church.
